There are tools available at SLU to help you, whether you require spiritual hydration, closeness and a feeling of belonging, or therapeutic care from qualified specialists.   These resources are briefly described here, along with advice on how to keep yourself mentally healthy and in good spirits while attending SLU.

Everyone of us has a unique past that led us to this point, and we are all at different points in terms of our mental health. What steps do you take to maintain your mental health? Are you making friends and learning life skills so that you will be able to ask for help when you need it in the future? Even though it might be our biggest obstacle, asking for assistance and support from others is the most effective instrument we have. If you don't take care of yourself first, you can't begin to serve others. You can use the list below to help you come up with ideas on how to keep a reliable network of mental health supporters.

Expanded Resources to Support Student Mental Health and Well-being

Students may now chat with a nurse 24/7 to discuss medical and behavioural (mental) health issues, get guidance on self-care, or arrange a telemedicine visit with a healthcare professional in addition to on-campus health facilities. While travelling or staying somewhere during the summer or winter breaks, you can use this service from anywhere in the nation. Students who are enrolled in programmes in Madrid or abroad are not eligible for the service.

Nurse Triage Line

For students who want emergency guidance on a medical or psychological issue, a nurse advice line is available. By phoning the Student Health Center (314-977-2323) and selecting option #9 to speak with a nurse immediately, you may access this service any time, day or night.

Online Medical and Behavioral Health Telehealth Appointments

Students will be able to arrange appointments for full treatment utilising this service if they are unable to do so with the University Counseling Center or Student Health Center during office hours or prefer the convenience of telehealth visits. There will be day, evening, and weekend appointments available.
